Colin shows his courage battling with his son’s disease - 2007-10-30
Colin Farrell has confessed his four-year-old child James suffers from a rare neuro-genetic disease named Angelman Syndrome, but has insisted his son is courageous and happy. Taking to the Sunday Word, Colin said, "The only time I'm reminded that there is something different about him - that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal - is when I see him with other four-year-olds. Then I go, 'Oh yeah,' and it comes back to me. But from day one I felt that he's the way he's meant to be." Colin refuses to refer the condition as a disability. "I have never thought of my son as being someone with a disability," he says. "It goes back to special needs and what is a disability and what isn't." Angelman Syndrome features a developmental delay, speech impairment, movement or balance disorder, excessive laughter and even seizures, reports the Angelman Syndrome Foundation.
Colin helps Toronto’s street guy - 2007-09-13
Colin Farrell helped a homeless, taking him on a $2,100 shopping spree in Toronto this week, buying waterproof jackets, pants, boots, and even socks. The Irish actor became friend of the street man, named “Stress”, four years ago while filming a movie. Dave Mott, manager of Europe Bound, reported, "The homeless guy was grabbing ... whatever he wanted." Colin was walking around with the guy and doing the same thing -- grabbed a sleeping bag and back pack, came back down and grabbed more clothing." In addition, the good-hearted star wanted “Stress" to get off the street, and gave him $830 to rent a room. It’s believed this is not the first time Colin lends his hand and generosity to strangers.
Colin mesmerized for his new girfriend - 2007-07-26
Colin Farrell is crazy in love with his six-month girlfriend Muireann McDonnell. The actor was seen in Vegas with her fiancee last weekend, enjoying hotel pool and casinos. The pair met in a bar in Dublin during the Christmas holiday and it looks like going serious, since Collin last confession. The Irish star says, "She's a great girl, we're really happy. It's easy to find girls, but it's not easy to find the right one."
Colin Farrell was turned away from a chic restaurant - 2007-05-03
Irish actor Colin Farrell was turned aside from a restaurant because the personnel didn't recognise who he was. The 'Alexander' star hit the fashionable Royale restaurant in Cape Town, South Africa wearing dirty jeans and so was told the place was full at that moment. However, Farrell decided to happily wait in line to be seated with five friends. A restaurant insider told UK's Daily Express newspaper, "The system is that you put your name down on a blackboard with a mobile phone number, go, and get a drink elsewhere, then they call you when a table comes free." The 28-year-old came back one hour later to eat the restaurant's local speciality ostrich burger and chips.
